About the book: Buxton, Maine, originally one of the seven Narragansett Townships whose land was awarded to soldiers or descendants of soldiers who fought in the Narragansett War, was originally settled about 1740 and was incorporated in 1772 as Maine’s 25th town. The records in this volume are copied from six record books and contain all births, deaths, marriages, and marriage intentions recorded on the town books. With an enormous number of family records, this book is invaluable for York County research and for research on families that moved through Buxton to other places. At 800 pages, MGS is pricing this big large volume to members and non-members very affordably.
Our Vital Records series includes data from early town records as transcribed from images of original documents. Births, Deaths, and Marriages are just some of the records that have been transcribed as part of this collection. Also included in some books are early church records, warnings out, cattle marks, town meeting information and disputes between neighbors. There is a wealth of information in town vital records and we're extremely proud to be able to share this information with the masses.
