Bangor Public Library has a vast genealogical and local history collection in its Bangor Room.

The Family History Library at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Grandview Avenue is good for a few hours of research!

Fogler Library, located at the University of Maine in Orono, hosts an extensive special collections holding, and has microfilms of many newspapers and the Maine Vital Records.
